Islam Awareness Week @ AGSB

Monday 20th - Sunday 26th November 2006

This years theme was on 'One World'. So far this has been the most successful Islam Awareness Week, with a full exhibition on Muslim Contribution to particular subjects around the school, assemblies on the theme of One World with a presentation and video which went down really well and distribution of many different leaflets and flyers about Islam and Muslims.

You can download our powerpoint presentation and assembly script on the downloads page.

Monday 21st - Sunday 27th November 2005

This years theme was on Islam: 1000 years in Britain which featured assemblies. Unfortunately we were unable to use the presentation but you can still download it on the downloads page.

Monday 22nd - Sunday 28th November 2004

AGSB Islamic Society have taken part in Islam Awareness week for the second year running, with this years theme; "Your Muslim Neighbour". We have taken this further to give an assembly to the whole school, and we have also put up an exhibition for people to learn more about Islam, providing leaflets for students and teachers to take with them. Thanks to Mohammed Yusuf, Ahmed Alshawi and Mansoor Alam as well as the committee for helping with the assembly. This year we also had a PowerPoint Presentation to add a little technology to the assembly, and we are working on improving our bonds with our neighbours in the school.

For schools who are trying to create an Islamic Society, or trying to make non-muslims more aware of Islam and the society, we highly recommend using Islam Awareness Week as a basis to help you become established in the school.
